chem prac n bio prac this wk..
smth similar happened.
for chem.. we were doing the kinetics expt.
for expt B, we were supposed to use XY in place of XP ( cos expt A uses XP).
den teacher said 5 more mins. asked us to finsh up.
but at that time, im only done with expt A. haven start expt B yet.
plus it's impossible for me to do the expt 3 times with diff concentrations of XY within 5 mins.
haha slow me la. Xp
so i quickly do the first run for expt B.
in the expt we were supposed to observe the colour change ( from colourless to brown) and record the time taken for the colour change. it should take no more than 30s ba.
so for my first run on expt B, i poured in the solution and started timing.
i asked sw how long did she take for tt run and she told me 9s.
then i looked at my stopwatch. it's already more than 10s!
still i waited for the colour to change but it nv change.
and gosh it's alr 40 plus seconds loh. impossible.
so i must have added the wrong soln.
i recalled and then i realised i added XI instead of XY.
aww.. no wonder the colour wont change. hahas..
as for bio prac.. we had to investigate the effect of concentration of enzyme on rate of reaction.
we had to record the time taken for the red litmus to turn blue (due to NH3 gas).
tube A has 100% urease (enzyme). tube B 50%. tube C 25%. tube D 10%. tube E 0%.
so i did tube A first n the time was abt 7 mins.
from knowledge, as the enzyme conc decreases, time taken will increase.
so tube B should take more than 7 mins.
so while waiting for the litmus to turn blue, i do my write-up for skill D- the errors/limitations.
den i looked at the stopwatch. it's 4 min plus.
den i turned to my tube B.
the litmus din turn blue at all. not even a slight tinge.
but strangely my solution turned blue! uhh.. it's supposed to remain colourless.
i dunno why. so i must have added smth wrong again.
i tried to recall n ya i added the wrong conc of urease.
i added the 100% one instead of the 50%. haiyo.
but still, even if i added the wrong conc, my soln shouldn't turn blue mah.
it shld turn out to be like tube A ahh. ?_? how come become blue?
erm i dun understand. hahaax..
yeap so i added the wrong solution for both pracs this week.
so qiao ah. hahahas..
my stupid-ness and blur-ness.
hah.. sometimes i really cannot stand myself.
okays..
