autism. autistics.
my pw was on autism.
today's reading prog is also on autism and ppl with disabilities.
and after sch i was asked to help out in shiting's project.
it's a cny celebration at a special sch.
i dunno how special are the students in the sch. i din ask them beforehand.
so on the way to the special sch, i asked elyse wad kind of sch is it.
and conincidentally it's a sch for autistics! hahaa..
seriously i dunno how autistics behave.
last time in my pri sch, i think there's one.
but im not so sure.
anw.. this is my first time visiting and performing in a sch with special needs.
the students are pretty enthu. gd gd! =)
they are in P1, P2 or P3, if im not wrong.
some behave like normal kids but there are also a handful who keep to themselves and behave rather weirdly.
and i was assigned the task as a facilitator. to help out the class when playing games.
before approaching the class, the students were standing in a circle with teachers among them.
so when i step in, a small boy suddenly held my hand.
i was kinda scared. i know he meant no harm but the feeling just came naturally.
but after a while, im ok with it. no more fear. =)
and the kids are cute.
i think they enjoyed the celebration. hees.
anw.. they are really a special grp of ppl whom we dont usually meet in a lifetime.
so it's a rare opportunity to encounter this special grp of ppl.
seriously i think we shld interact more with them. learn n understand them.
so that when we see how they behave, we wont avoid coming in contact with them.
after seeing them, i think im much more fortunate.
i pity them for their disability. they cant express well.
and they are always so quiet. they tend to keep to themselves.
and there's a pt when i wish i have the ability to open up them.
help them in one way or another.
imagine how much they are being despised by society. the expressions ppl give.
imagine how much they have to go thru at such a young age.
and how abt their parents.
i bet it would be even harder for the parents to face the fact.
wad would ppl think? wad would u think?
im glad i went to help out. =]]
i learnt more abt the diff kinds of ppl and their needs.
and most imptly, i had an encounter with them personally.
only then i know how it feels.
okie.. enough of this. hahax.
yr of the dog isn't gd esp for dragon babies.
erm but tt's wad i heard from mum n frens.
latest issue of i-weekly said so too.
it's not gonna be an easy n simple yr for us.

hmm well.. i wont say it's being superstitious or wad.
in fact, i think it's better to believe such things.
that i'll be missing my chocolates, pineapple tarts n the new yr goodies!
